Energy Concessionaires

This segment is responsible, under federal concession, for providing public services related to the generation, distribution, and transmission of electrical energy.

In Brazil, this segment is composed of dozens of concessionaires, which are responsible for the management and operation of lower-voltage transmission lines (below 230,000 Volts), but primarily medium- and low-voltage networks, such as those installed on the streets and avenues of large cities.

ENERGY GENERATION

  • Hydroelectric power sources;
  • Traditional energy sources such as oil, coal, and natural gas – polluting and non-renewable
  • Clean and renewable energy sources such as biomass, wind power, photovoltaic, and tidal energy.

ENERGY TRANSMISSION

  • When electricity reaches cities, it passes through voltage transformers in substations that reduce the voltage. From there, the electricity flows through the distribution network, where wires installed on utility poles carry the energy to your street.

ENERGY DISTRIBUTION

  • The energy distribution system is closely intertwined with the urban topography, branching along streets and avenues to physically connect the transmission system, or even medium- and small-scale power generation units, to the end consumers of electricity.
